How To Program RainBird ESP-SI Controller
How to program your RainBird Si Series sprinkler system timer the easy way.
In this step by step guide we’ll walk you through setting up your RainBird Si series controller. We’ll go through everything you need to know to get your sprinklers running automatically.
Date & Time: The first step is getting your date and time set up. This is an old timer that doesn’t work off a calendar. Rather, just off a 7 day week.
- Flip the knob over to “Day”
- Use the “Up” and “Down” arrows to pick which day you are on.
- Once done flip the knob to hour, and repeat to minutes.
- After you adjust your time and flip over, it should save your input.
- Flip to “Auto” to verify
Start Times: This setting determines what time your sprinklers come on. The RainBird Si has three start times you can set up for one day. If you use multiple programs we recommend not using the same start time for more than one.
- Flip the knob to “Watering Start Times”
- Select the number 1 as your first start time option.
- Use the “Up” and “Down” signs to adjust the start time.
- Check the other start times to make sure they aren’t on if you don’t mean them to be.
- To turn a program off, adjust the time past midnight. There you will see a blank screen. This means that program is off.
*Note: At the bottom of the panel there is a schedule selector switch. Be sure to move it over to “C” for custom. Otherwise your custom settings won’t work.
Water Days: This is where we set up what days we want to water. Also, why it was necessary to set up the date and time. Without that, our watering days could be off.
- Flip over to “Days to Water” starting with Monday, ending with Sunday.
- Press the “Up” arrow on everyday that you want to water. You’ll see it say ON next to that day. This means you are watering.
- Press the “Down” arrow on everyday that you don’t want to water. You’ll see OFF if you aren’t watering.
Run Times: This programs how long each zone will water your lawn.
- Flip the knob to “Watering Time Per Station” starting with zone one.
- Use the “Up” and “Down” signs to adjust the run time for each zone.
- You can have different run times for each zone, customize it suitable for your lawns needs.
- Flip the knob to “Run”
That’s it! Your RainBird Si series sprinkler system is fully programmed and will run automatically now. Sit back and relax.
